Weeky Report

Woo Hoo, this week is almost over! I can't even begin to explain the difference between last week and this week. This week has been short, fast and FANTASTIC! I have to admit that I was a little nervous about this semester after the first week, but now I am feeling like this could be a very good semester. Fall seems to have blown in with the hurricane and is making spirits lighter and brighter. The weather is perfect for opening windows and letting the air blow through. It always amazes me the difference a change in weather can have on people's moods. For me it as helped me get in the school doing mood, I'm staying on top of homework, my sometimes short temper is longer, and I can truly say that I'm enjoying work more. I would definitely have to say that Fall is my favorite Season, it just seems to boldly pronounce with big, bright and warm colors that change is in the air!

So here are some of the changes that I've experienced this Fall:
  • Change of Music: I've found some very interesting and amazing artists that I wanted to share with you all (thanks to Katie Huff)! The one that I'm really enjoying the most is "Augustana," the song "Sweet and Low."
  • Change of Living Arrangements: I have to confess that I was a little dubious about sharing a bathroom and adding a new roommate to the mix here at the 48th House, but it is AMAZING! Having Katie here at the house makes all the difference in the world but for the good!
  • Change of Heart: I have decided to finally lay my problems in God's hands. I'm going to stop trying to analyze and solve problems that are obviously bigger than I am. I think if I would have done this a long time ago I would have saved myself a lot grief. So bring it on world, I have the best problem solver there is!
  • Change of Attitude: Positive! That is the key to a wonderful day!!! Every morning this week I've told myself before I even get out of the bed that "Today is Going to be Great!" Great days don't just happen they are the result of a positive attitude and an open mind. So people, your bad attitudes, snide remarks, and persnickety ways will no longer get to me!

With A Happy Heart,
Kasey

P.s. Copy of Birthday List will be Posted Tonight!

Well I'm still looking for that birthday list! I'm glad to hear your 2nd week went better. I was more than a little concerned last week. You're right, a positive attitude can make many things better. Today in my social work class we talked about being nonjudgemental - a very difficult thing for us to do because we are human. One thing I tell my coordinators if they come in fussing about someone is (after I've let them vent and have affirmed their feelings) "Now tell 3 things you admire about that person." Stops 'em in their tracks. But honestly, no one is ALL bad so by practicing the skill of looking for someone's strengths, you suddenly find yourself thinking differently about that person. I think you're on the right track for your life - a positive attitude is a wonderful character trait! :)
